WVU Football: T Minus 7 days

FINALLY!!!!

The moment I've been waiting for all summer has arrived....
WVU SEASON TICKETS!!!!

7 more days till Mountaineer football and it's pretty much all I can think about right now. I know, I'm pathetic, right? :-P

Maggie wasn't as excited...

I'm pretty sure they sell Mountaineer jerseys for dogs. Oh, who am I kidding, I probably should buy youth size #5 for Maggie!
I hadn't recieved my tickets as of this Wednesday, so I called the WVU ticket office to see what the deal was. Why in the world would they put them on WILL CALL? Oh well, I had them sent to me and no harm was done. This girl will be at Mountaineer Field next Saturday!

Success!

Ok, at first glance, this next blog may be ridiculous. I apologize over my excitement over simple things.

This summer I decided to experiment with my first ever attempt at container gardening. I purchased a Roma tomato plant, that also included 6 different herbs, and I bought 3 different pepper plants-red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and some other kind of hot pepper.

I am the very proud parent of several Roma tomatoes!

This ripe one ended up in my shrimp and pasta dish last night....YUM!

Before my first tomato baby succumbed to my dinner, I made sure to document my achievement:

hahahaha

And I have just a few peppers, that should be ready within a week or two and hopefully there will be more, but if I only produce a few, I'll be ok with that.

(and yes, that's Maggie's leg in the background. She wonder why in the world I was taking pictures of a pepper plant....the neighbors probably wondered as well.)

A Day at the National Zoo

I met Colin and Amanda in DC on Saturday, Aug. 1. We checked out the National Zoo. Luckily for us, we got to see all three pandas. Although two of them were just sleeping, we got to see the one munching on his bamboo lunch! Apparently he was too full and needed a nap. He sprawled out across a rock! So cute!

It was pretty awesome! My other favorites were the western lowland gorillas and the tamarins. I could watch those things play all day long! It's so awesome that the National Zoo is free!!

Some other pictures:

The meerkat looks up at the sunshine.

Western Lowland Gorilla -so fun to watch!

A scary rattlesnake. I'm glad there was glass in between us!
